The first week of Oct. was spirit week. The kids enjoyed dressing up like twins (twin day), Hawaiian Style, Crazy Hair Day, Crazy Sock Day, and the old famous spirit wear your school shirt day. With this brought the end of the quarter along with parent teacher conferences, and report cards. The kids all had great grades and good reports from their teachers. Benjamin’s teacher swears Ben is smarter than she is. Anthony’s teachers are afraid of making an accidental wrong statement in class for fear they will be corrected by their far excelling student Anthony. Jessika’s teacher just loves her and says she is such a joy in class and all the kids love to play with Jessika. I felt all of these were such great compliments.
General Conference weekend the kids and I took off up the mountain to visit with the Hornes. We had a really fun time despite leaving our 85 degree weather in exchange for the 65 degrees we experienced. It was cold, but fun. We enjoyed the fall festival parade on Sat. morning, the kids got a lot of candy and peanuts, but the parade has definitely gone down hill. We listened to most of conference and then headed up the mtn to Sunrise. The kids recited a ski rule and rode the chair lift and in turn Sunrise gave them a season pass for the winter to ski. We are excited for this and hope we will get to use them a couple of times. The wind was very cold and we all likely froze to death on the lift ride. We listened to more of conference on Sunday while Adam and Anthony built a playground for their backyard. Monday the kids played, went to woodland lake to play and feed the ducks. Monica and I went to lunch during naps and then we headed for home.
We came home for a week of fall break. We have taken it easy, but also tried to fit in some fun things. Wed. we took the kids bowling. They all had a great time. Jessika won the first game with mom winning the second. I think we all could use some work brushing up on the bowling skills. (if it weren’t too expensive) Wed. night we treated ourselves to the IMAX where we saw Sea Monsters in 3-D. That was cool. Thurs. we went to the pottery painting place where the kids each picked something to paint and then painted it. Fri. we finally fit in a friend party to celebrate Benjamin’s birthday. This was our first available weekend since the actual date. We had some friends come over to play and then made minature pizzas. We enjoyed a money cake and ice cream and then packed the kids in the car. We took them to the drive-in to see Under Dog and Game Plan. It was quite fun, we just hope we didn’t have any children throwing up that night as we loaded them with popcorn, pop, and candy. Wade & Ronnijean joined us. It was a great time.
Dad and Mark joined us for a nice Sunday dinner. Dad came over Tues. and worked on our sprinklers and toilet flusher. It was great to have him work and fix those things. Thank You, DAD! We then enjoyed some window shopping at Sams Club.
Sat. the 13th was filled for the girls as they participated in a cheerleading clinic in the morning and then attended a glamour birthday party of our neighbors little girl. They got to dress up, get their hair done, and then they each got their own makeup and practiced and learned how to put it on.
The next week was filled with getting back into our regular school routine. Not Easy! Jeremy then left out of town on the 19th for another scout trip. I managed (with the help of a neighbor) to send my boys off to Rockin R Ranch where they performed for the pre dinner entertainment and took my girls to the High School Game in which they got to perform with the cheerleaders for the 1st quarter of the game. I was sad I didn’t get to see the boys perform, but everyone said they did a really great job. The girls were very cute cheerleaders and had a lot of fun. (1st Picture- Chelsey(white shorts mouth wide open) and Jessika (tan shorts mouth wide open looking left) in the 2nd row.

The next day was the primary program practice followed up on Sun the Primary Program. The kids did a great job. Anthony gave a talk and everyone commented how wonderful he did. They thought he could be 18 yrs old from the talk he gave, especially after we told them he wrote his own talk and we didn’t help him at all. We also enjoyed watching Wade & Ronnijean's kids Saturday night while they went to a Stake Conference Adult Meeting.
Sunday the 28th we enjoyed having Adam & Monica’s family and Wade & Ronnijean’s family, and my neighbor’s family over for a birthday dinner for me. My wonderful husband made a yummy pasta primavera, 7 layer salad, and frogeye salad. It was delicious. Sherry brought some cream cheese wontons and shrimp tempura. We all had a good time visiting and the kids all enjoyed playing with each other.
Mon. the 29th we carved our Halloween pumpkins. On the 30th I had a wonderful birthday. Jeremy took me to breakfast and then Chelsey and I attended her preschool Halloween party. She really enjoyed the trick or treat alley and carnival booths. But she couldn’t figure out why we had to go trick or treating again on Wed. night. She is quite a funny girl. My neighbor took me to lunch and then Jeremy and I went to the Landmark for dinner. So my birthday was an all day eating affair. Ofcourse, I’m not complaining, but I think I was full for two straight days afterward.
Halloween was great this year. Anthony and Benjamin were a pair of dice. Jessika was a pop star “Hannah Montana”, and Chelsey was a little mermaid, but it was NOT Ariel. They enjoyed trick or treating and we enjoyed our annual block party with a nacho bar and hot chocolate. Jeremy left to go to California the day after Halloween. He was invited by some clients to go to the Drag Races. He really had a good time, but we are sure glad to have him back home safe and sound.

We hope you all had a great October, we hope you all have an awesome November, Happy Thanksgiving, and we look forward to reading all about your family in your letters! So Long,
Love, The Holts
