Well I'll try to cover our very busy life over the past month, actually, I think it's been almost two months...I sure come up with the grandest of plans...
BASEBALL
The end of March brought us head strong into Baseball season. Thank goodness, this year, we only have one child playing. Benjamin is on the Mets Team. Their team is pretty good and have won most of their games. Benjamin has become quite the little pitcher and catcher and we are really enjoying this season. He is one of the older (more experienced) he has been able to enjoy the exciting positions more! This past two weeks they have been in the tournament. They made it through winning all their games clear to the championship game! Really Exciting. The championship was great, lots of fun, and they played really good, but unfortunately they lost 16 to 17 in the final inning. We were quite proud of our Benjamin-he did awesome! And they still got trophies for 2nd place!

FIELD TRIPS...
This is the time of year for all field trips...before the year ends...

Jessika's class went to the Desert Botanical Gardens to learn about and see desert plants and also to see their famous Butterfly Garden that they bring in special each year in the spring. She really enjoyed it...until...she realized she wasn't feeling so well, and turned to her teacher said she didn't feel well and then pucked! Poor Girl! I was substituting that day, so we were able to get dad to go meet her at the park were they were going to eat lunch. He was able to keep her with him for the rest of the day. She was grateful the sickness didn't come on until after she saw all the Beautiful Butterflies!

Benjamin's class enjoyed a day at Chase Field (Diamondbacks Stadium-for all you non AZ Dback fans). The AZ Science Center and Chase Field have a program together. The science center people come to Chase Field and perform different experiments for the kids to watch and talk about science, and then Chase Field gives each child two tickets to the dbacks game that night. I was able to chaperone with Benjamin's class for this field trip. We enjoyed the experiments, especially the explosion at the end! (I didn't so much enjoy the disection of the cows eyeball-GROSS!) Unfortunately, the boys had a piano recital that night and we were unable to go to the game. Fortunately, Wade, Mark, Isaiah, Carter, and Zachery were able to use the tickets and some extra we rounded up to enjoy the game for us! Thanks guys!

Chelsey's class got to take a trip to the Dairy Farm. I also was able to chaperone this field trip too. Chelsey loved seeing the cows. We got to see a calf about 2 hours old. We learned that brown cows still produce white milk, not chocolate (funny I always thought chocolate milk came from brown cows!) We fed goats, a horse, and got to pet the goats, donkey, rabbits, chickens, and a baby lamb. We enjoyed a hay ride, grape flavored milk, and homemade ice cream! YUM YUM!

DUET RECITAL
This spring the boys had a duet recital. They worked really hard. Anthony & Benjamin played a duet together: "Heart & Soul". Anthony played "Fur Elise" as a duet with another girl, and Benjamin played "Eccosaise" as a duet with another girl. It was a really fun recital and they all did a great job! (I worked really hard to record it, get it ready to put on this blog, and have been very unsuccessful at doing so!-hopefully, soon, I can get it working, so I can share their talents with each of you!)

OUCH!
Chelsey got in a fight with the ceiling fan...it knicked her face in three different places! She is recommending to all out there that you don't get on the bunk bed while the fan is on!

FATHERS & SONS
The boys got to enjoy a fun Fathers & Sons campout April 24-25. But...one thing I don't understand, there were 3 of them, one night, breakfast was provided...and yet, this is what they took with them (and it doesn't include the cooler of drinks they took):

Look closely, I believe there is enough to last for about a week...maybe more, needless to say, I was sure they would come home with most of it...But, to prove Mother wrong, they worked really hard to eat most of it before coming home! Boys will be Boys...Even the Big Ones!
COUSINS, COUSINS, COUSINS...
Aunt Tauna, Trent, Sterling, Vanessa, Allison, Serena, & Phillip came to Arizona during their spring break. It was really fun to have them visit and the week was way too short! We celebrated their arrival with a birthday dinner to Arriba's Mexican Food by leaving all the kids home and taking Tauna out to dinner. We enjoyed the quiet before the beginning of a very noisy week. The next day Sunday, we went to church, thank goodness for later church when their is 13 people that need to get ready with only two bathrooms. After church, we gathered for dinner at Wade & Ronni's with Mark to enjoy a birthday celebration for Tauna. We enjoyed more mexican food, salsa, tacos, and bean dip. Needless to say we always eat well!
The week to come brought us many activities. My kids favorite part was missing school and being with their cousins. We enjoyed rock climbing, Benjamin's ball game, the splash park, swimming, makutas island, a movie, dinners, games, and gatherings. Monica & Adam's family joined us towards the end of the week. We also enjoyed Easter activities, dying eggs, easter baskets, and egg hunts. We had a wonderful week. So much Fun! We were all very sad to bid them farewell at the close of the week, but we will cherish the memories and fun times we all enjoyed! Thanks for Visiting us WALLS! We Love & Miss you Tons! (I'd love to post pictures, but unfortunately Tauna took all the pictures, someday, I will get them from her!)
6th GRADE SCIENCE CAMP
The Tues. following our cousins visit, Anthony & I (as a chaperone) headed off to Friendly Pines Camp in Prescott, AZ to enjoy a 3 day science camp. Anthony had a great time! He really enjoyed being with his friends, camping, and science! The camp was a really nice place. They had cabins and I was a chaperone over about 9 girls with one other chaperone. The only downfall to the whole experience was the weather! For some reason, (surely not global warming) the weather turned really cold and we even got snowed on during the second day. I taught a class on bones, fur, and skulls (yes, if you didn't know this is one of my specialties in life!). The kids rotated through many different activities-team challenges (tug of war-for years this challenge has been won by the girls & but, unfortunately the boys who hoped to take the title this year did not & the girls still remain the champs!), chemistry (homemade ice cream making-in tin cans), bone box (bones, furs, & skulls), owl pellets (discecting owl pellets-this is the coolest one they did according to all the kids! Anthony found 3 skulls (shrew, mole, & house mouse), some claws, & a full rib cage in his owl pellet!), and a nature hike! One night they rotated through sky watch (looking through big industrial telescopes), night vision goggles (the same kind the army uses-they were awesome-you could see just as it were daylight), and smores (you know graham cracker, chocolate, & roasted marshmellow)!

GERBIL FUN
Benjamin's school teacher has a class pet...a gerbil! He has been begging me to let him take it home over the weekend. He even dedicated one of his persuasive writing assignments to writing me a letter 'persuading me that he is resposible and able' to take care of the gerbil! (It was quite a good letter & very persuasive!) I finally gave in and the kids had a blast with "Marshmellow" the gerbil! It even came with this fancy cage!
JEREMY TURNS 39!
May 7th was a very happenin day for our dear old daddy! 1st he turned 39 and 2nd we had 50 different directions we needed to be that night! Needless to say our celebration was pretty rearranged! We decided to take the kids for breakfast (being our night was very full-keep reading) to Dennys! We enjoyed the morning and took the kids to school a little late! During the day, I went to his work & decorated his truck with Happy Birthday in Car Paint & balloons! He says he was so embarresed! I think he really enjoyed it! That evening we had him open his presents, and then off to a band concert, school celebration of learning, another school meeting! We ran out of time to sing and have cake, so we did that another day! Then about 9pm after we finished the few things we decided we could make it to...we met up with some friends at the "KEG" for dinner and desert!
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
This year Anthony was again in the Battle of the Books Competition. He was with two of his best friends James & Scottie! They were a great team, winning the school competition, they moved onto the district competition! They took 3rd in the district comp and moved on to the regional competition! They still did awesome! At the end of all the rounds there were 5 teams who had answered every question correct and they were one of those five. Unfortunetely, in the working to narrow it down to three teams, they ended up missing and got out! We are still very proud of him. They studied and read 12 books about 3 or more times each! Great Job G.E.E.K.S! (that was the name of their team-weirdos!)
Team Sign & Name
Final Competition at the School (Anthony, Scottie, James)
District Competition (listening to the question)
Consulting on the answer-(during the regional comp they were like a robot when they turned in to consult-everyone thought it was so funny. The audience laughed each time they were up and turned in to consult!
Third Place! Winners at the Regional Competition!
