The first 1 1/2 weeks of June went pretty smooth. We enjoyed Anthony & Jessika's swim team practices and 2nd meet, Benjamin's dive team practices and 1st meet, and Chelsey's first 3 weeks of swim lessons and Jessika's 1st week of Dive lessons. We enjoyed spending some time with Monica & family and Wade & family, and Mark & Casey. We went to lunch, swimming, had a bbq, went to Mukuta's Island (an indoor climbing tree house with lots of tunnels, slides, a zip line, and many more fun things!)
Then, in my eyes, Wed, June 11th changed things for the worse. It started with a sore throat on the left side of my throat, it hurt pretty bad. I went through the day anyway, with swim lessons and team practices, then joined friends for lunch at Subway and then to Gelato for an afternoon treat. Then we went to another friends house to let the kids swim. (Jessika & Benjamin went to their other friends houses to play) So, Anthony, Chelsey, and I swam I was pretty worn out, but still stayed for my children. I finally decided that I couldn't take much more as the throat was getting worse by the minute. We went home and I laid down on the couch. This is was the beginning of the end of my good days for a time.
That night Dad was suppose to arrive late to drop off some furniture. I had no energy to help unload stuff and I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Well Jeremy and dad got everything unloaded that night and filled my living room almost to the brim. My dad stayed the night and thankgoodness he was here as the next day was worse for me. Dad helped me out tremendously by taking my kids to swim/dive team (this was also their picture day), and swim lessons. Jeremy was able to run me to the doctor (20 minute drive) and a very long wait. But after all I had Streph Throat. I came home with about 5 prescriptions and braved the shot at the Drs office. Dad hung out and did the swim/dive morning routine. I don't know what I would've done if he hadn't been there, because neighbors and vt's were gone on the pioneer trek. Jeremy got my prescriptions, dad got the kids settled with lunch and then was on his way back up to Utah. Then for the next 4 or 5 days, I continued to live on the couch. I was constantly in pain in my throat even after alternating ibprofen and tylenol w/codiene.
Sat. I had enough energy to attend Benjamin's 2nd dive meet and he did an awesome job. He placed 2nd! Awesome job Benjamin, but when we got home, Jessika lifted up her shirt and said "Mom, I think I have CHICKENPOX!" Sure enough, I believe that is what she had. So, Jessika and I recovered over the next week. (ofcourse, she had no pain, did not act any differently and felt fine, I can't say the same for myself).
Father's Day probably wasn't the best one Jeremy has had yet. As he took the kids to church and Jessika and I stayed home. I did make him dinner (nothing fancy and it took everything out of me to get it done.) Mostly just a pretty lazy day.
Needless to say, the next week was kinda boring for all of us. We didn't do too much and Jessika stayed home from all swim team practice and dive lessons.
About a week later, we both seemed to be recovered and feeling much more like ourselves. So, back to routine. We tried to swim a few times, go to the rockwall, and enjoy time playing at friends and having friends over. The boys have enjoyed going to scouts.
Jeremy has stayed busy taking care of his family this month, more work than he was expecting, but he always does an exceptional job.
It continues to get hotter and hotter each day. Somedays, we wish we were in cooler country, but we are truly enjoying our summer life--Swim Team...Dive Team...Swim Team...Dive Team...ETC
I'll leave you all with the kids stats for June, and then you can all come back to see the final results (the end of the story) in the JULY letter.
